Darrell Johnson has been named CEO of the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). Johnson has been with OCTA since 2003 and currently serves as deputy CEO.

Allen Wright has taken over as the new president and CEO of Woojin IS America Inc. Wright is a longstanding executive in mass transit with experience in maintenance, operations, marketing and management with transit authorities and manufacturers.

Richard Gonzalez has joined Miami International Airport as its general manager of shuttle services. Gonzalez will be responsible for a transit unit that safely transports more than 15,000 people a day.

Rod Diridon was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the U.S. High Speed Rail Association Diridon is chair emeritus of the California High-Speed Rail Authority Board. Board Chairperson Dan Richard was presented with the Heroes of High Speed Rail Award. Anthony Perl, director of the urban studies program at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. was presented with the Transport Revolution Award.

John Boulé, former commander of the New York District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), has been named a vice president of Parsons Brinckerhoff. In his new position, Boulé will serve as senior manager for priority project delivery.

McMahon Associates Inc. announced John W. Fuller, E.I.T. as senior project engineer to its Mid-Atlantic Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Traffic Signal Department. Fuller has worked on projects for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and the York-Adams Transportation Authority.

Attorney Brandi M. Stewart of Keating Muething & Klekamp PLL (KMK), was named to the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority’s board of trustees on Dec. 18. She currently serves on the Ohio State Bar Association Board of Governors.

Timothy “TJ” Thorn was recently promoted to director of Transit Operations at Metro. Shawn Donaghy was promoted to assistant director of Transit Operations.

Joseph Dougherty was appointed Harsco Rail’s vice president — International. Dougherty will lead the company’s sales, administration and operations in Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa and Russia/CIS regions. Jay Gowan, vice president of Sales for North and South America will take on additional sales responsibility in Australia and New Zealand. David Baxter was hired as director of global commercial operations.

Scheidt & Bachmann USA Inc. announced the appointment of David Macaulay as executive vice president & managing director North America, Fare Collection Systems. Macaulay previously held senior roles with Vestas, Siemens and IBM.

Alva Carrasco has joined VIA Metropolitan Transit as the vice president of transportation. Carrasco joined Montebello Bus Lines in 2009. He will oversee the daily operations of VIA’s bus lines and manage departments of transportation administration, service operations, service transportation, paratransit operations, route planning and scheduling.

Tim Young has joined FirstGroup America as its senior vice president of human resources and labor relations. He will oversee the human resources, the labor relations and benefits, and supervise the payroll division.

David Beagle has been named the vice president of service operations for ABC Companies. He will set direction for ABC’s nationwide network of service facilities to ensure customers’ needs are met and expanding service offerings for operators.

David Vozzolo has been appointed director of HDR’s streetcar practice. Vozzolo has more than 33 years of experience in transit management in the public and private sectors and is principal-in-charge of the Kansas City Streetcar project.,

The city of Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus (BBB) has hired Tim McCormick as transit planning administrator and Jennie Campos as transit community relations coordinator. Linda Gamberg has been promoted to transit community relations officer. Bridget Cade was promoted to administrative services officer for BBB.
