While public transportation is at the forefront of the current pandemic, ENGIE Solutions says new technology can support transit operations in order to cope with difficult situations. 

On-board audio and visual information

Now, possibly more than ever, agencies need to keep passengers up-to-date of the ever-changing situation. One way to inform them is through audio and visual announcements inside vehicles.

Through the ENGIE Solutions CAD/AVL platform, agencies can wirelessly edit audio announcements, in real-time, and customize information based on new social distancing rules in vehicles, rear door boardind or new schedule changes.

In addition, ENGIE Solutions says it is supporting agencies with the creation of COVID-19-related media to be displayed on the on-board screen. This allows transit agencies to broadcast new rules of conduct, new schedules or simply preventive health messaging to riders inside the vehicles.
