The Lodi, Calif.-based, operator has been selected for her distinguished safety record and passenger focus.

MV Transportation Inc. (MV) has named Lodi, Calif.-based, Lisa Mead as the national Katherine McClary Operator of the Year.

Established to honor the memory of Katherine McClary, MV’s annual award recognizes the safest transit operators at the company.  Award recipients are chosen from approximately 15,000 MV operators across North America.

Mead has worked in both transit and paratransit operations in Lodi since 2000 and has been with MV since 2003.  She is currently an operator for the Lodi Grapeline and has a flawless driving record with no preventable accidents or passenger complaints during her 19-year transit career.

Mead was nominated by Julius LaRosa, the MV general manager who oversees the company’s transit operations in Lodi.  “It was easy nominating Lisa based on her sincerity and compassion,” LaRosa said.  “She does an exceptional job managing safety, customer service and on-time performance every day. We can always count on her.”

A formal presentation was held on August 27 at Hutchins Street Square in Lodi, where MV CEO Tom Egan and Lodi city and transit leaders jointly presented Mead with her award.  Also attending the event were Mead’s MV colleagues and friends.

“Lisa embodies the key attributes of safety and customer focus which MV was founded on over 40 years ago,” Egan said.  “We are extremely proud to recognize her, and the exceptional passenger experience she brings to the Lodi community.”
