Beginning on January 1, 2019, Taxi Access Program (TAP) customers now have two different payment options for their monthly payment. Monthly TAP payments are based on two zones within Frederick County; Zone A: customers in zip codes 21701, 21702, and 21703 and Zone B: customers in zip codes 21704 and any remaining Frederick County zip codes.
Previously, Zone A customers were required to pay $10 to receive $60 per month in cab fare and Zone B customers were required to pay $20 to receive $120 per month in cab fare. With the payment update, customers now have the option to split their monthly payments into two installments. Therefore customers in Zone A can make one payment of $5 to receive $30 in cab fare at the beginning of the month and can pay a second $5 installment later in the month to receive the remaining $30. Zone B customers can make one payment of $10 to receive $60 in cab fare at the beginning of the month and can pay a second $10 installment later in the month to receive the remaining $60. The second payment of the month for either zone is optional.
The TAP program currently partners with Yellow Cab and Bowie Transportation for transport. Bowie Transportation has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
